2008 Season
5-3-2008
The Mini Stocks brought out the largest car count of the night including several rookies. The 25 entries were divided up with 18 in the A main and seven drivers in the consolation main. In the ten lap consolation main David Short and Alyson Clark shared the front row at the start but Clark moved to the outside and around to take the lead when Short got loose on turn four. With one lap to go Short looked on the outside to take back the lead but a half lap later decided on the inside and the two had a drag race to the finish. Clark took the checkered and Short came up short with Josh Culley, Everett Meeks, and Travis Pavlacky rounding out the top five.
The Mini Stocks 40 lap main event started with Ernest Dodson on the pole and Brandon Shira on the outside. At the green Shira moved in behind Dodson and they stayed in this position for several laps. Casey Hart had third place until Eddie Ables worked his way up from mid field to take third away. On lap 12 Ables passed Hart on the outside and then set his sights on Shira and took second. When Shira tried to get his pass back on the outside of Ables Hart moved inside and Shira had nowhere to go but back to fifth place. By mid race Dodson had a 4 second lead over the rest of the field but lapped traffic helped Ables to close the gap. A caution and a subsequent restart allowed Hart to try his holeshot restart but Jeff Hasson took Hart's spot on the inside groove and Hart had to settle for a fourth place finish. Dodson crossed the finish line first with Ables, Hasson, Hart, and Scott Wilcox Sr. following. After review by the officials Dodson was disqualified leaving Ables with the win. Thank You ASA Racing for the write up.

The track was very slick and slow going for all the cars that were there. The Mini Stocks took the car count with over 20 cars in the field. Monte in the Hugo's Deli #19 Ford Mustang was the first of the Team to go out and Qualify. He ran a 18.10 sec lap on the first lap and spun out on the second lap. Cody in the #72 Streamline Builders Toyota Celica went out and ran a 16.5 sec lap and did ok. Scott in the #83x S&J Drywall Mercury Capri went out last and ran a 16.3 sec lap.
Monte had to start in the Heat C race and started outside pole. They made them restart 1 time and on the second start Monte pulled away from the cars. 8 laps later Monte pulled off the win.
Cody 4th in the B Heat and ended up getting 4 wide and he backed off. He ended up last in the Heat race.
Scott made the A Heat race and he started on the pole. The rest of the cars couldn't keep up with him. Scott went and won his Heat race.
In the Main Scott started 6th, Cody started 4th, Monte started 12th. There was 3 cautions and 1 red flag as the 90 car dumped its oil on the whole track. Monte fell back and avoided 2 close wrecks and finished 17th. Cody was running in the top 10 till another car rubbed his left front and cut it down and he ended up 19th. Scott got up in the top 5 and ended up in 3rd place. It was a good night at the track.
